About the Course
Stitching Stories: Exploring Textiles Together is an 8-week course led by visual artist Rosie Edwards, inviting you to experiment with textile art as a way to unlock your creativity.
The focus is on process, not perfection – giving you space to relax, play, and discover your own voice through making.
What to Expect
Over the eight weeks you will:
Explore different approaches to textile art inspired by artists and techniques
Try out mark making, stitch, layering, and print
Build personal samples each week and/or contribute to a final collaborative piece
Work in a safe, supportive environment where fun and experimentation come first

When, Where & What to Bring
Every Wednesday, 2pm – 4pm, starting 1st October 2025 (with a half-term break)
Venue: The Powerhouse, Hamworthy
Materials: Basic materials provided. You’re welcome to bring anything extra you’d like to explore or include in your work.
CoCreate sessions are designed to be safe and supportive spaces, that allow you the freedom to do your best work. Our courses are suitable for all levels of experience, and we welcome complete beginners.
When you sign up you’ll be asked if there’s anything you might need access support with, this could include physical access (lifts, wheel chair access, etc) or other things like help with writing, large print, or more time to process information. We’ll send a reminder email, with a link to join the session, to everyone.
You don’t have to tell us anything you don’t want to share, and we’re always happy to talk about how we can support you at any point in the course.
